Senior Backend Engineer

MyOme is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its integrations and portal team, enabling patients and providers to order genetic testing and understand results through portal enhancements and backend systems. Responsibilities include adding new features to backend systems for portal improvements, building reusable components to support integration partners, creating test data for system design/development, developing new APIs, contributing via code reviews and design discussions, and participating in agile processes (sprint planning, retrospectives, continuous improvement). The role requires balancing quick wins with long-term technical sustainability.

Requirements: at least 6+ years of software development experience and 2+ years of healthcare/biotech experience. Experience with HIPAA compliance and healthcare software (or other privacy-focused software) is required/preferred. The candidate should have a proven track record delivering production-grade web applications, experience with CI/CD pipelines, comfort with Python/Django, and experience designing APIs. Genetics experience is preferable. No specific degree prerequisite.
